Hi - I know it is tough times but our family is helping a 12 year old girl and her grandpa. He rescued her from her drug addicted mother and moved away to Arizona from another state. He is of limited means - a vietnam vet dealing with severe disabilities himself. He does his best but there is so much to running a household and raising a child.
This little girl has been sleeping on a mattress with a blanket rolled up for a pillow and no sheet. Our family has tried to take care of these basic necessities and replaced her bedding and are donating some household goods to try to get them up to basic standard of living.
She is going to start middle school and we are working to get her ready. She bascially needs everything as she has grown out of her clothing and has no school supplies. She is size 12-14 girls. If you have a girl this age who is moving onto high school and has some good usable things we would appreciate your considering donating to this girl we will call "D".
I know sometimes people like to buy but if we could get some money or gift cards together we could try to allocate the funds to the most important needs and work our way down the list. Even $5-$10 adds up when lots of people help out. We havent set up a bank fund in her name, but if you donate I will give you a receipt and a copy of a receipt of what we bought her. This is not a scam. Just a truly caring set of people wanting to make someone else's life better.
Or she could also use school supplies - pencils, pens, notebook paper, folders, glue, a calculator, spiral notebooks, a ruler, protractor, scissors, ink pens.
If you want to help - email me at cdb8501@cox.net.
Thanks for your consideration!
