Vail School District’s HR Department Receives

Workplace Excellence Award

Last fall, all of the regular elementary, middle, and high schools in the Vail School District received the Excelling Label from the state of Arizona for the second consecutive year in a row. The district has also received accolades and tributes from parents for its caring and committed staff and its exceptional extracurricular programs. The district is truly a great place for students to grow and learn.

It is is an equally outstanding place for teachers, administrators, and staff to work.

On March 4th, 2009, the district was honored to receive the Strategic Human Resources Organizational Leadership Award as part of Tucson’s 7th Annual Workplace Excellence Awards.

The award, presented by Tucson Newspapers and The Society for Human Resource Management of Greater Tucson, recognizes the human resources department for playing a leadership role in driving the district’s performance and reputation through the application of technology and business knowledge, and for its ability to attract and retain a highly motivated and qualified workforce.

Over 130 companies were nominated for best practices in human resources, but only seven companies walked away as winners. Other winners included University Medical Center, Kindred Healthcare, and Bernard HODES Group.

Congratulations and thank you to the Human Resources department of the Vail School District for continuing to make the district a wonderful place to be employed.
